our online visual merchandiser
our online visual merchandiser will be responsible for creating an inviting, branded experience within the website. our visual merchandiser will help to bring our products to life online, making sure all brand storytelling, seasonal content, photography and product data is engaging and up to date with clear reasons to buy.
they will ensure the website is easy to navigate, works well on both mobile and desktop, and is optimised to drive sales and revenue. with a focus on improving website features, they will also look to enhance cross-sell and upsell opportunities and use intelligent placement of product and marketing to drive trade in certain categories or products.
applying proactive and innovative thinking, this might include exploring ideas in social proof or scarcity or using tactical promotions and website features to help increase average basket size or conversion.
they will use ga to monitor engagement on site, store navigation and ease of use, with a focus on onsite search and website architecture to help customers find what they are looking for and move them further down the purchase funnel, ensuring a seamless user experience and optimal sales output.

the e-commerce & retail division is a revenue-generating part of the business which is behind developing, promoting and growing the newt in somerset as a fine-quality food & beverage brand. offering a best-in-class experience is of upmost importance. this is achieved through a full vertically-integrated consumer proposition and operation which offers tight quality control across all phases of product delivery.
key responsibilities:
ensure products are both strategically and attractively merchandised across prime locations on the website to maximise sales.
managing onsite search results, maximising search conversion rate by optimising product search terms to show the most commercial and relevant products, maintaining synonyms and redirects, analysing search results sort order, reviewing search user experience.
manage cross-selling and up-selling opportunities, monitoring the success of these using a test-and-learn mindset
manage website/app navigation, products categories and attributes, coordinating seo requirements with the marketing colleagues.
project managing new product launches online - ensuring all product data, photography, packaging and printed collaterals are delivered
working closely with a creative team on digital content. taking ownership for planning and briefing assets creation for editorial and promotional content and its delivery across different areas of the website/app (a homepage, brand/ category/campaign/product pages)
translation of positive customer trends identified in our retail stores onto the online channels and vice versa
perform competitor analysis into best-practices and opportunities in improving customer experience and efficiency of digital merchandising.
support a wider marketing team with ideas for product selection and merchandising of seasonal and ad-hoc marketing campaigns across all channels.
provide regular summary reporting with insightful commentary on opportunities, challenges and promotional performance across ecommerce website/app.
qualifications and experience
needed
experience using google analytics for insight, using custom reports, segments, dimensions; experience in setup and use of events
strong online visual merchandising experience
strong understanding of website taxonomy and usability
effective communication skills
understanding of basic digital marketing
experience with content management and ecommerce systems
preferable
knowledge and passion for the luxury gifting or farm food market
