join learning disability charity brandon trust as a 'waking nights support worker' and discover a genuinely rewarding role. you'll support people with a learning disability, autism or both at home to live life in the way they choose. you'll have a guaranteed number of hours work each week, with the occasional daytime working, for example to attend training courses and meetings.

about the role

you'll provide responsive and high quality, person-centred care and support at night to three adults sharing their home together. this may include physical, sensory and emotional support to promote an individual's well-being and safety. as part of an individual's care and support plan, or as needs arise, you'll provide support which may include personal care, monitoring and managing specific health care needs. timely, accurate recordkeeping and any household duties required on shift.

if you're new to social care, we will support you gain the nationally recognised care certificate. if you have experience as a care assistant or care worker in a care home, you'll discover we provide plenty of on-going training, support to achieve relevant qualifications and career progression.

about you

you're considerate, committed, resilient and respect people's differences. empathetic, you adapt your approach to individuals' needs, have good communication skills and a positive, patient approach. you come up with creative solutions to overcome challenges and have a 'can-do' attitude. you'll need to be flexible and able to work shifts across the week, including weekends.
