you'll support people with a learning disability, autism or both, at home and in the community to live life to the full. care and support experience is not essential, we value the personal skills and interests you can bring to the role and lives of people we support. we will consider part time hours and weekend working.

about the role

you'll join the friendly team supporting predominately elderly individuals who live in the pretty village of hook norton. you'll support the busy individuals in all aspects of daily living including supporting them to go on holiday, attend social clubs and visit garden centre visits. they also enjoy music, theatre, cinema, parties in their homes and in the community, trampolining, flower shows, football matches and generally being sociable and having a good time. you'll support them with patience and humour. you'll provide person-centred support in all aspects of everyday life, including supporting with personal care and medication needs.

if you're new to social care, we'll support you to gain the nationally recognised care certificate.

about you

you're considerate, committed, resilient and respect people's differences. empathetic, you adapt your approach to individuals' needs, have good communication skills and a positive, patient approach. you can build professional relationships and have a 'can-do' attitude. all support workers work flexible shifts to provide a 24/7 service to the people we support including evenings and weekends.

full-time support workers for this role work 37.5 hours plus one sleep-in a week (pay for these sleep-ins is included in the annual salary of gbp22,721 - gbp23,145 pa).

you have the option of working additional hours (gbp10.02 - gbp10.24 p/h) or sleep-ins (gbp60 per extra sleep-in) in a range of services.
