job summary

join us in westbury-on-severn where you'll support two people in their own homes. working in our friendly team, you'll enable the people we support to increase their independence and live life in the way they choose. the support you provide will be centred around each persons needs, values & preferences which could include developing daily living skills, accessing a wider community, personal care and medication needs.

we are able to offer full-time and part-time hours starting from 15 hours which will require you to work flexibly on a shift rota basis. night and weekend only contracts will also be considered.

about the role

as a lead support worker you'll be assigned area(s) of lead responsibility; for example autism, personality disorder, speech and language, positive behaviour management, psychiatry or health. you'll be responsible for liaising with external professionals and devising support plans and risk assessments relating to your specialism. you'll communicate this specialist knowledge to colleagues to produce a coherent and integrated package of support. you'll also liaise with family members.

in the longer term you may also line manage support workers, however management experience isn't required.

about you

you'll have a positive can-do attitude, are resilient and an innovative problem solver with a flexible attitude and are willing to try new activities.

you'll have experience of supporting people using positive behavioural support. as well as experience supporting people with a learning disability including supporting those whose with complex needs. working with multi-disciplinary teams, you'll have experience with people who communicate non-verbally.

you can work 24/7 shifts including weekends and evenings / nights. a full driving licence is essential for some roles.
