Wood machinist - united kingdom, bedminster, bristol

hello!

we are konk, a small bespoke furniture company based in bristol. we make sustainable, high-quality furniture from solid hardwoods and we’re looking for an experienced wood machinist to join the team.

you will be involved in every aspect of taking a piece of raw lumber and transforming it into finished components or glued panels. throughout the process you will be utilising the following machines, and familiarity with most of them is essential (training will also be provided):


crosscut saw



rip saw



planer



thicknesser



track saw



wide belt sander



biscuit jointer



what we are looking for:


at least a year's workshop experience (preferably with wood machining experience)



reasonable physical fitness - as we make some heavy items!



someone who has a passion for woodworking and furniture.



team player and excellent communicator



good work ethic



salary will be based on experience, but expect in the range of £20k-23k starting.
