they have an exciting opportunity for a structural designer to join the team within their business. the role will focus on designing and developing corrugated packaging solutions using cad software and sampling facilities, both independently and alongside other team members with great training, development and career progression opportunities! the role will report directly into creative & technical manager.

day-to-day responsibilities:

design and develop corrugated packaging solutions using cad software and sampling facilities, both independently and alongside other team members.generate accurate cad drawings following set parameters and tolerances, including for the use of setting artwork and the manufacture of die-cutting forms.create samples for testing, development and approval using zund cad table.utilise internal applications to establish most suitable solution for the customer.work closely to support the sales team in winning new business.explore new concepts and ideas to show that our team is always looking to innovate.use enquiry database to track projects and keep information up to date.take ownership of tasks by liaising with colleagues and customers to gain information and keep relevant parties informed of progress.attend briefs to identify and advise requirements for effective and efficient production.visit customers and suppliers when necessary.assist with technical support for both internal and customer production lines.work in accordance with sites certifications.actively engage and participate in all elements of health and safety requirements, whilst utilising the health and safety systems available.

knowledge, experience & characteristics desired:

structural design experience, preferably within a corrugated or packaging environment.knowledge and experience of cad software (arden impact or artioscad) is essential as well as literacy in ms office applications.technical and systematic approach to problem-solving with excellent attention to detail.ability to interpret and follow a brief and confidently present suitable solutions.keenness to learn and understand our manufacturing processes.ability to thrive when the pace increases.excellent written and verbal communication skills.ability to adhere to health & safety systems and procedures.enthusiasm and flexibility with a positive and proactive approach.
