General laborer - united states, aurora (colorado)

in this role, you will be a member of a team responsible for preparing products for shipping to customers including packing finished product, labeling, and placing on pallets.  this is a hands-on position that requires mechanical aptitude and independent judgement.

primary accountabilities:

  • mechanical aptitude
  • ability to read and interpret work orders to understand customer requirements
  • supply feed section of equipment through production support with carton blanks enabling winder to maintain a continuous run
  • perform quality checks as required
  • ensure accurate quantities are packed
  • report any quality issues or equipment defects to the line operator
  • apply labels to cases and palletize finished product
  • obtain corrugated supplies/packaging materials form the staging areas
  • report all safety and quality problems to the operator, department lead, manager or quality team
  • communicate required information to fellow colleagues and managers
  • must be self-motivated and capable of working with minimal supervision
  • may be required to perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned
  •  

    physical requirements:

  • physically able to lift up to 30 lbs repetitively, 50 lbs occasionally, 100 lbs with assistance
  • able to work in a labor-intensive position - lifting, standing, bending, twisting and stooping for up to 12 hours per day
  • pushing/pulling using manual pallet jack to move pallets
  • visually inspecting tooling, equipment, and finished product
  •  

    job requirements:

  • prior general laborer or machine operator experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
  • ability to read basic measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers and tape measures
  • strong leadership and the ability to take initiative
  • good verbal and written communication skills with ability to provide hands-on training
  • communicate with management team on efficiency and quality matters within department
  • maintain good housekeeping on line by sweeping work area, clearing waste/debris and cleaning dust
  • capable of performing other duties assigned by management as required
  •  

    hours are as follows:

    m-th   6:30am -5pm

    f-6:30am – 3pm

    sat  6:30am-12noon   occasionally  (hopefully we can not work on saturdays but until we can fill some positions we are forced to)

    $18.75/hr
