Temporary housing options team leader - united kingdom, solihull, west midlands

randstad are looking to recruit a temporary housing options team leader for a client based in solihull; leading the team of housing options staff in the delivery of excellent customer service across all operational functions of the housing advice and homelessness service provision. functions will include the provision of housing advice to those customers in housing need. the main focus will be on the prevention of homelessness and ensuring our statutory functions are carried out in accordance with the relevant legislation.

purpose of the role:

to have managerial responsibility for all officers in the housing options team.to lead on a continuous approach to learning, improving knowledge and service improvementof the teamto support staff to develop specialist skills in relation to specific areas of rough sleepers,domestic abuse and young peopleto support officers to meet targets to reduce the number of households in temporary accommodation and budget hotels.to complete homelessness reviews when necessary and to ensure that reviews are conducted in compliance with statutory timescales, regulatory framework, and the homelessness code of guidance.to lead on the provision local policies and procedures that reflects legislative requirements and best practice in the provision of housing options to the customer. you will be required to:

work 37 hours per week, some evening and saturday working may be required.you will need to attend meetings at various locations and may need to carry out 'home' visits to clients. requirements:

educated to degree level or substantial housing management experiencewhile not impossible, it would be difficult to carry out the duties of this post without being able to drive and having ready access to a carextensive housing management experience including experience of homelessness and housing advice.detailed knowledge of housing law and practice.knowledge of immigration and european rights of residence and to demonstrate the ability to analyse case detail against legislative requirements.knowledge of welfare reform and changes within the benefits system.knowledge of social housing policy, practice, and procedures. this role is a for a 12 week period, starting as soon as possible. please apply today, or call alix tel: if you require more information on this post.
