regional hr advisor

ideal base location: newcastle upon tyne, edinburgh

salary: up to £35k pa

about the role

reporting into the head of hr (uk) you will be the first line contact and support for all property hr and employee relations matters, engaging with head of departments and general managers.

you will have at least a level 3 cipd qualification and should have experience in (at least) a single site hr advisor/executive position or a small cluster role.

you will have worked within a hospitality business.

looking after all three brands, this is a fantastic opportunity to add value, enhance the culture and drive engagement.

the ‘northern’ patch is aberdeen down to york so whilst geographically large you won’t be expected to drive to each location. instead we offer fully expensed travel via rail and the majority of our hotels are located a short distance from major rail stations. plus you get to stay in our fantastic hotels whilst away from home.

main duties

you will be advising, coaching and mentoring the managers in your businesses area on all hr practice, policies and procedures
you will support your properties with investigations, disciplinary & grievance processes and help manage family leave, long term and short term absences and flexible working requests
work with the head of hr (uk) to resolve complex cases that may arise
ensure that you have clear communication with all properties within your region and that they receive visits/ calls as required.
you will monitor key hr data for your region and action as necessary measures for improvement
undertake regular file audits to ensure employee files meet our legal requirements - boring but essential
support new starters with a best in class induction and onboarding journey
actively encourage employee engagement through our wellbeing activities and employee committee ‘your voice’
promote our existing reward, recognition and benefits offerings when on property
support our mental health & wellbeing strategy in your region - we will train you to be a mental health first aider
promote an inclusive and diverse work environment across our business
assess the need for hr training on property and work with the heads of hr and l&d to address this through training and resources as required.
support the wider people & development team with hr and related projects

desired skills

strong hr experience and willingness to learn more ideally from within a hospitality business.
level 3 cipd qualified - we will support you in obtaining your cipd level 5
approachable and influential with strong communication skills
organised with high attention to detail
commercially focused
adaptable
flexibility and willing to travel within region
ability to prioritise and work to deadlines
