Quality engineer - united kingdom, coventry, west midlands

6 month temp contract

purpose:

to work with the production and engineering teams to ensure the company is conforming to the standards required as defined by the pfmea process using the control plan and to ensure all standard work documentation and current practices reflect this.

key responsibilities:

* complete all quality deliverables for every programme gateway on time to the correct quality

* foster a quality mind-set within the project and manufacturing team.

* support the quality department in developing and implementing a quality operating system.

* lead problem solving teams and 8ds.

* lead internal and external (iatf, iso, customer etc) audits.

* build and maintain customer, supplier, and internal relationships.

* produce ppap documentation for customer validation.

* complete any imds and reach requirements.

* contribute to process documentation and controls.

* 3 quotes per project for measuring equipment.

* specify, order, and validate measuring equipment (from gauge to cmm) for project.

* all tracking documentation up to date with actions for off target

* escalate any potential concerns with suggested recovery (no surprises)

* prioritise workload and focus on upcoming targets

* flexibility to cover other quality roles.

* solid automotive manufacturing background

* deep knowledge of current best practice in quality systems

* ability to work on own initiative.

* self-motivated and directed.

* excellent ability and willingness to coach others

* kpi focussed

* li-ion battery cell and pack manufacturing preferred

* working knowledge of iso:9001, iatf 16949.

* working knowledge of: - 8d, apqp, ppap, msa, fmea, spc, poka yoke.

* computer literate.

* full driving license.

* educated to hnc level or with relevant manufacturing experience.

* excellent understanding of new project introduction principles.

* demonstratable experience of running projects and leading cross-functional teams
