• i am a 25-year-old young woman looking for support to get me up in the morning

• i am good natured and friendly if you are happy to help me do things my way

• i enjoy watching dvd’s and love to chat. i look forward to the day ahead.

• i have cerebral palsy and need help with all tasks

• i use a powered wheelchair as i cannot walk but i am good at doing transfers with help

• my mum will help with some of the tasks as i prefer to transfer without a hoist

• i have some speech, but you will need to get to know me to understand me

• training will be given, and a care plan is in place for you to follow.

other requirements

• "exemption is claimed under the equality act 2010 part 1 schedule 9."

• must be comfortable with pets

• non-smoker preferred or someone who is willing to refrain from smoking during work hours.

typical duties

domestic -

changing bed linen

bed making

general cleaning of bathroom and bedroom

taking out rubbish

personal care:

• washing and showering – towelling dry/ drying hair

• general hair/skin care

• using the toilet and changing continence products

• dressing and undressing

• assistance with getting out of bed using turning stander – this is a 2 person task and will be helped by mum

• getting in and out of the wheelchair ('transferring') and shower/toilet chair

• teeth cleaning

social:

• whilst on duty at the employer’s home watching tv and assisting with craft activities

• female due to personal care needs

• able to both follow instructions and work on own initiative

• hygienic, tidy minded and well organised

• fit and healthy to undertake the required duties

• able to work at all times to high standards of health & safety

previous experience preferred but this is not as essential as a kind and common sense approach to these roles.
