a lovely family is looking for a full-time live in housekeeper to join their friendly and welcoming home near malton, north yorkshire, yo17. this is a live-in role. you should have a full driving licence for this role.

package offered

overall package worth £42,000 - £52,000, this includes a salary of £30,000 - £40,000 gross per year depending on experience
a lovely 2 bedroom cottage with a small garden will be provided. open to candidates with partners and pets.
a car can be provided for work purposes

family background

the family live near malton, north yorkshire, in a beautiful 5 bedroom house with a large garden. they have three children (aged 5, 3 and 1 years old) and a dog so are looking for a housekeeper who is child-friendly and happy to work around animals for this role. experience with children would be beneficial but not essential. the family also hire a nanny who works during the week.

duties

you will be responsible for all of the hands-on housekeeping in the household, duties include but are not limited to:

hands on housekeeping. it’s a busy house with lots of laundry and people coming and going
cleaning the whole house. organising an extra cleaning staff to do this, when needed
preparing the house for guests and turn-down when there are people staying
occasional turn-down when there are guests, and, again, organising extra help when required
organise house maintenance such as window cleaners/plumbers/electricians
food shopping and organising the fridge
occasional food prep. no cooking required
washing and ironing, organising dry-cleaning
organisation of large linen cupboard
dog walking and feeding when required
keeping the playroom organised
making sure the house is backstopped with light bulbs, batteries etc
occasionally being in charge of one or two children at weekends when parents go out
1 night per week baby-sitting

location/accommodation

the main family home is near malton, north yorkshire, yo17 in a quiet rural village. this is a live-in role and the family would expect you to be based there. you will be provided with a 2 bedroom cottage with an enclosed garden. candidates with partners and pets are welcome to apply.

days/hours

you will work from 9am – 7pm, with two hours off from 1-3pm each day
working 5 days each week, you will be expected to work three weekends a month and will have days off in the week when you are working weekends (suggested days off tuesday and wednesday)
1 night per week baby-sitting, paid as overtime or given as time in lieu
occasional evening overtime when the family have guests

languages

you must speak a good level of english to communicate with the family.

special skills

you should be friendly, honest, tidy and organised. you must be a skilled housekeeper and be happy to work around children and animals.
