adecco search is recruiting qualified candidates for a direct hire a sr manufacturing engineer job near portland, me for our client, a manufacturer if quality products. this is a newly created position due to continued growth and long-term contracts. we are seeking a senior manufacturing engineer with a drive for success to add to their engineering team!

as the senior manufacturing engineer, you are responsible for supporting current production systems and future improvements in safety, quality, efficiency, and cost. you will also coordinate and direct trouble shooting and problem solving while leading by example while demonstrating data driven decisions. being the senior manufacturing engineer means you will communicate detailed plans to accomplish goals and direct the integration of technical activities such as process improvements, equipment installation/modification, and material system development while demonstrating the behavior of leading by example. our client offers an excellent base salary and comprehensive benefits package.

    essential job responsibilities:

  • lead projects to enhance the company's technical capabilities
  • develop, implement, and sustain policies and procedures for the technical work performed in the production facility
  • implement transformational process improvements using lean and six sigma tools.
  • provide technical support for 7x24 manufacturing facility in assigned areas of responsibility
  • perform root cause analysis for failure investigations and other data analysis tasks
  • write periodic reports or oral presentations to management and customers on specific projects
  • design and develop new equipment for future production systems
  • ensure that health and safety policies are followed
  • apply quality standards to ensure process control and compliance with certification requirements
  • work with customers to develop and qualify process changes and provide technical services
  •  

    what we need from you!

  • bachelor's degree in engineering discipline in chemical engineering, industrial engineering, mechanical engineering, materials engineering, electrical engineering, or closely related discipline 
  • 15+ years of related experience in manufacturing and process engineering 
  • communication, coaching, and skilled in leading peers and teams
  • demonstrated results in technical problem solving and product/process development is required
  • systematic behaviors supporting configuration management
  • strong work ethic
  • excellent attention to detail
  • ability to lead and participate in root cause analysis and preventive action projects
  • strong oral and written communication skills
  • experience with gd&t
  • experience with theory of constraints and lean manufacturing
  • support pursuit of industry 4.0
  • experience in aerospace/high-temperature composites, industrial engineering systems, plc programming, and analysis tools would distinguish the candidate
  • ability to obtain a u.s. secret clearance
