our client is looking for a hard working warehouse operative to join the team in st alband

salary £21,500 per annum, dependent on experience

our client serves the needs of the building, construction and mechanical trades in the home counties and london from their premises in st albans.
they are looking for a warehouse operative to join their team.
about the role
you will be working in the warehouse, helping with the general upkeep, checking and receiving goods in, picking and packing for orders due to be delivered the following day, loading goods received into the correct bay and handing delivery notes, once checked, to purchasing manager.
main responsibilities include:
lift heavy goods in a safe manner according to health and safety policy
support drivers in loading vans ensuring it is safe for travel
help unload van on return ensuring vans are kept empty overnight
obtain signatures on paperwork for goods returned
obtain secondary signature on picked orders to check goods packed
general upkeep of the warehouse
check and receive goods in and note on delivery note any errors/shortages
pick and pack orders for the following day
loading goods received into correct bays and restock shelves.
experience with forklift driving would be an advantage.
