writer ii - position description

we are looking for an experienced editor to join our team. your goal, in partnership with our technical editor, will be to participate in the editing and updating of documentation related to security, resilience and governance. your purview will include editorial reviews, document updates, template standardization, article re-writes, and metadata creation to assist in preparing articles for publication. in addition, special projects such as a glossary of terms, website reviews, creation of training materials and  may also be. key responsibilities include:

  • support the writing, editing, clarification and formalization of documents with subject matter experts. 
  • assist in identifying documentation gaps and create additional internal governance content, including manuals, standard operating procedures, policies, protocols, etc.
  • organize existing documentation, identify documentation gaps, and publish documents within a content management system.
  • create training materials and manage editorial projects, such as the creation of a glossary, to further standardization efforts across the organization.
  • skill/experience/education

    mandatory

    editor must have 3-5 years experience. must have outstanding attention to detail, exemplary communication skills and a demonstrated excellence and focus on editing. should have experience working in a cross-functional team environment and have a deep understanding of editorial workflows and processes. preferred candidate would have digital editing or content management experience.

    ideal candidates will have project management oversight skills and the ability to break down a large task into thoughtfully prioritized workstreams. experience working in content management systems, editing metadata, and analyzing content data identify gaps and recommend solutions desired.
