gbr recruitment are working in partnership with a uk wide well known agricultural, forestry & horticultural machinery / specialist vehicle business recruiting for a agricultural machinery service technician to join the engineering team servicing & repairing customers equipment in a timely manner so the farming customers can complete harvest their crops or carry out their farming duties to the best of their abilities often working to short time frames. this is a key role requiring someone who is quality focused from ideally an agricultural dealership or manufacturer or similar machinery / vehicles such as horticultural, forestry, plant & construction, ground-care, harvesting & crop machinery, off highway machinery, municipal machinery or similar. it is key that you have strong experience with hydraulics, engines, mechanical parts, electrical parts & agri tech. this is a fantastic opportunity to join a leading industry name that develops from within & is people centric. technician duties: repair, maintain & modify agricultural machinery / vehicles (tractors, combines, attachments, ride on mowers) working on various well known agri brands machinery / vehicles & the latest equipment plus those more dated diagnosing breakdowns & faults, repairs required & time scales of works to be carried out liaising with parts & spares suppliers communicating professionally with all farming clients explaining what works are required to their machinery giving product advice to the farming community advising customers on the machine / vehicles capabilities & how to get the best out of it completing all required paperwork detailing faults identified & completed works / parts used etc. quality checks on all products & all parts installed on the customers machinery (1st time fix) reporting to the office when out at a customers site giving updates on work in progress (wip) desired attributes: agricultural machinery or similar products engineering / maintenance experience engineering qualifications (c&g, nvq or hnc etc.) ideally having worked on tractors, combines, ride on mowers, attachments & similar experienced in hydraulics, engines, mechanical parts, electrical parts & agri tech (some of not all) experience of using diagnostic machinery strong communications skills & customer focused happy to carry out field based work on customer sites plus some workshop based duties interviews to take place immediately
