"following a reorganisation, opportunities have arisen to join the project controls teams based at chapelcross (dumfries & galloway), dungeness (kent) or sizewell (suffolk) to perform the duties of a project controls manager. the role is required to provide a project controls service for a range of decommissioning projects, (anything from gbp5m - gbp250m) at the relevant site in accordance with company standards. the successful candidate will further build and develop a team of project controls professionals and enjoy a varied portfolio of work."
the successful candidate will be expected to:
be based at chapelcross, dungeness or sizewell, with occasional working from home and infrequent travel to other magnox sites
provide timely competent project controls advice to their team and to project personnel
supervise, manage, develop and plan succession for their team of practitioners
actively manage and drive the baseline change process
ensure timely reporting using evm with in-depth variance commentary
oversee our supply chain's project controls performance, and support project teams on the resolution of contractual matters
escalate issues in a timely manner and provide support to the portfolio controls manager
qualifications & experience:
a degree or equivalent
an appropriate project management or project controls qualification (desirable)
significant experience in a project controls or project management discipline
a solid understanding of cost, planning, risk management, change control, and contract management in a project environment
proven supervisory experience
excellent communication skills
strong analytical skills and the ability to gather relevant information
confidence & capability to carry out duties in a largely autonomous manner
please note we have 3 roles available and 1 is required at each of the following locations: chapelcross, dungeness and sizewell. infrequent travel is expected between other magnox sites.

there is a requirement to live within a commutable distance to the sites where the role is based. for central/multi-site roles, we have various hubs across the uk and can be flexible with base location.
