admissions advice and guidance officer- the role:

we are seeking outgoing individuals to join our admissions and customer services department to support young people at the beginning of their student journey. you will be part of a team that processes applications, gives course advice and guidance (full training given) both to internal and external young people, attend local events with colleagues and helps support students through to their enrolment in courses.

we will require you to work one evening a week during term time (time off in lieu will be given to take at an alternative convenient time).

admissions advice and guidance officer- key responsibilities:

- ensure that any indication of support needs are communicated to the learning support team in a timely manner

- liaise effectively with curriculum managers and tutors across all curriculum areas and types of college provision

- interview prospective students, progressors and restarters and offer advice to ensure customers enrol on the appropriate courses

- attend external promotional events in schools including parent evenings, and school assemblies

admissions advice and guidance officer - you:

- minimum level 2 in maths and english (or equivalent)

- nvq level 2 in advice and guidance (or commitment to gain)

- basic understanding of the education system in the uk
