kingston christmas market is a seasonal event throughout november and december. throughout the traditional wooden cabins, discover a treasure trove of unique and handmade giftware, perfect for stocking fillers and unusual gifts. you’ll find bars serving up steaming mugs of mulled wine and classic street-food, plus a live entertainment stage, a fire pit for toasting marshmallows and a vintage carousel for the little ones. it’s the perfect way to soak up the atmosphere and get into the christmas spirit.

job summary:

the bar manager will oversee and assist bar staff and site cleaning staff in the performance of their job duties such as responding to customer inquiries and resolving issues or complaints.

duties/responsibilities:

new staff onboarding

day to day management of staff welfare and rostering

monitoring of health and safety within bars and public area

monitoring and management of cleaning staff

responsibility for daily cash operations such as issuing floats and cashing up

management of stock levels and minimization of wastage

dealing with escalated customer complaints

daily reporting and issue escalation to the head of operations

strong supervisory and leadership skills.

ability to prioritise tasks and delegate them when appropriate.

experience:

a minimum of 3 years of related experience is required. the applicant must have previously managed a team.

physical requirements:

prolonged periods of standing and walking in open weather conditions. this job occasionally requires all hands-on deck so the applicant must not be afraid to serve customers and carry stock when required.
