Distribution & logistics coordinator - united states, springfield (massachusetts)

adecco staffing is assisting a facility in north andover in hiring a distribution & logistics coordinator to join their team! this is an office based logistics role that will work on internal coordination of outbound finished products and inbound raw materials. logistics experience is required.

schedule: 6:00am-2:30pm/7:00am-3:30pm

pay: $24-$28 doe

summary of position:

the position provides internal coordination of outbound finished goods for customer orders, and inbound raw materials for production demands.  coordinates the transfer and review of information and materials for external storage facilities.

 

essential job duties:

evaluates the production plan across the three manufacturing departments and develops a daily “hot sheet,” identifying just-in-time items are ready/available for both customer orders and internal production needs. 

generates a daily list of “priority products,” identifying external finished goods that are available to ship and the intended destination.

develops a daily “production shuttle” schedule to coordinate transfers as well as weekly production shuttle previews.

interacts frequently with customer service to prioritize and coordinate customer demands.

creates and runs reports that identify the demand for external customers.

verifies scheduled vs. actual production to ensure inventory accuracy, labeling, etc.

interacts with warehouse personnel to ensure the trailers and products are properly prioritized.

liaison with external storage facilities for both inbound and outbound items, tracking communication logs as needed.

produces and reviews external storage facility documentation including, order schedules, pick-tickets, order billing, appointment schedules, edi transactions, order shortages, and other time sensitive transactional information.

 

job requirements:

high school education or equivalent along with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in an office-manufacturing environment.

demonstrate consistent attention to detail and commitment to accuracy

intermediate skills with word, excel and outlook is a must

working knowledge of standard order entry software (jd edwards) used in a manufacturing environment is a plus

exhibit strong interpersonal skills for ongoing communication with internal and external customers.

effective problem solving skills

experience in a food manufacturing facility preferred, but not required

ability to work in a fast paced environment effectively

consistently demonstrate a high level of professionalism with internal and external customers

ability to work flexible hours as needed.
