job description

we are small and effective team working within the beautiful north powys area. this role provides technical coaching and mentoring to team members so you need a good knowledge of regulatory, enforcement and incident processes.

you will have a good knowledge of north powys, a full driving licence and lots of enthusiasm. we are looking for a team player who can contribute to the planning and delivery of our regulatory work on farms, water abstractions and water discharges. the role is both field and office based and you will work with a wide range of internal and external customers in picking up the more complex issues for the team.

you will have an important role to play in working with partner organisations such as the wye and usk foundation and severn rivers trust to identify opportunities to deliver mid wales priorities. at the same time you will develop an internal network to help you and team members deliver their work.

this work will be your main priority but you may be called on to contribute to other areas within the environment team's remit such as conservation work on designated sites.

we are looking for an enthusiastic individual who can work at a fast pace, often to tight deadlines and who is able to effectively prioritise their workload to deliver more for the environment.

you will be able to demonstrate knowledge and experience of the following:

• experience of project development and management (desirable). • ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders and the public, explaining issues and gaining support by influencing. • experience of coaching and mentoring team members. • good knowledge and experience of regulatory and enforcement processes. • hold a current full uk valid licence to drive nrw fleet vehicles (cars and vans). this is an essential requirement for the role.
