we are currently seeking a skilled, reliable, and proactive handyman for a building. the successful candidate will have a hands-on approach to facility maintenance, including plumbing, painting, fixing, arranging, air conditioning and other utilities, and general maintenance.

the handyman will be responsible for maintaining school facilities to ensure a safe and clean environment for students and staff at all times. this role will also require the ability to coordinate with other workers and manage the facility effectively.

responsibilities:

maintenance tasks: perform a wide range of maintenance duties including minor electrical, painting, and carpentry work. ensure that heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems are operational.

plumbing: handle minor plumbing work such as fixing leaky faucets.

coordination and management: collaborate with other staff members to ensure that all areas of the school are clean and well-maintained. coordinate with external contractors when necessary.

cleaning: perform regular cleaning tasks to maintain a high standard of hygiene in the school facilities.

inspections and repairs: regularly assess the condition of the school building and grounds to identify areas that need repair or improvement.

safety compliance: adhere to all safety policies and procedures, and ensure that school facilities meet health and safety standards.

qualifications:

proven experience as a handyman.
experience with hardware tools and electrical equipment.
experience in a maintenance role, including plumbing, painting, and hvac systems.
ability to work efficiently with minimal supervision.
strong problem-solving abilities.
excellent communication skills.
ability to coordinate with a team and manage a facility.
high school diploma or equivalent required.
physical stamina and dexterity.
knowledge of general health and safety rules and legislation.
working hours:

this is a full-time position, monday to friday, with occasional weekend work as needed.
