Accountabilities:general: systems engineers are an important element in our overall cmms support and are a valuable resource in assuring that the system and master data are properly configured. they understand sap and key business processes and are uniquely qualified to create and lead maintenance databases.master data: collaborates with others in the creation and maintenance of master data. this includes sap and other active applications. they compile and format data for mass processing by other md resources. they support sap releases, capital projects, mocs, procedures, and other refinements.in support of our master data efforts, drives manual updates to functional locations, equipment and pm tasks using standard transactions. this requires competence in the master data role ppjr14. the individual uses templates and guides for standardized setup based on tag number, p&id symbol, function, etc. they are competent in the creation and classification of common plant systems and collaborate with the md team on the overall data process. sap releases: supports new sap releases. the position is responsible for the collection of master data, and guides data providers. this includes training in the tools and work process. for releases, there is frequent interaction with the core team. release support is provided (on-site or remote) through the stabilization period.sap projects: will scope and lead routine "projects"within their respective cmms counterparts this includes rework and refinements to improve productivity or functionality and involves individual businesses or sites within their region.process safety: directly with mi resources to define and set up mi tags and pm tasks. the engr defines fl and equipment structures for process safety devices/systems. knowledge is needed in the sap set-up and reporting aspects.mocs: they are a resource for the md engineer, addressing questions or issues related to plant changes.plant equipment: they are a resource for the md, assisting the effort of assigning proper equipment classes and characteristics. the engr reviews load files to assure that proper classes are assigned and recommend new classes to supplement the current selections.pm programs: key role in the development and refinement of plant pm programs. they assure that equipment is properly classified, and work with the md team to review and optimize the pm programs. they help ensure that pm tasks are consistently applied, and our pm programs continually reflect the corporate and business requirements for safety, reliability and productivity. the systems engineer works with the md team and other engineers on refinements to our pm task library, which is the basis for our global pm programs. they work to resolve gaps or discrepancies that are reported or discovered through audits.pm tasks: works with the md team to assure standard text for pm tasks is properly applied to the equipment. recommends text updates.data extracts: capable of extracting data from their regional cmms and performing a variety of checks and analysis. the extracts can be used to assure data quality and recommend updates to the md team. basic excel skills are needed.user support: given their familiarity with cmms setup and content, the systems engineer is an ongoing resource for operating, maintenance and functional groups.reporting: aids the supported businesses through reports/measurements using the s4 hana reporting functions and other sources. must be knowledgeable in the standard reports relating to process safety metrics, pm compliance, maintenance cost and other critical metrics. these will typically be bookmarked reports that can be applied by others within the maintenance on consistent basis. the systems engineer should be proficient in manipulating these reports and creating their own, personal bookmarks.continuous improvement: system engineers are important to our overall efficiency and ci efforts. they find opportunities for system and work process improvements and submit remedy tickets to solicit it sap resources involvement in problem resolution. improvement opportunities may involve new work processes, system updates, testing and implementation. the engineer has a substantial role in working with others to implement improvements and eliminate waste. replication of benefits is needed.decision-making: this position is directly involved in problem resolution, recovery efforts and continuous improvement. the system engineer provides mentorship to users, and apply their business, cmms and work process knowledge to benefit the company.contact with others: the systems engr works with the plants, power users, maintenance personnel and md team members. they interact with pm power users to ensure the pus understand the setup and configuration of master data. this allows the pu to better support the users. changes are handled and communicated.skillsknowledge and experience: the position requires basic knowledge of the cmms used in jigpc (sap pm module). the individual must also be familiar with maintenance work processes in the supported businesses. a basic knowledge of the sap pm module is needed, and familiarity with data standards, work processes, and master data transactions. the individual must understand sap functionality for corrective, preventative, and shutdown work. basic knowledge of process plants and equipment is needed, allowing the individual to properly configure the system.experience: this role requires 5-8 years’ experience in a maintenance, planning or systems role. this allows the individual to properly relate to the functionality and use of a cmms.sap role: the position requires the ability to configure and implement new functionality and will use standard sap tools to create master data. competence in the use of spreadsheets and master data transactions is needed to be successful. this is the level 2 role, ppjr14.databases: competent in at least 1 cmms, typically sap or sap 4 hana.communication skills: good team and communication skills are important since this individual will regularly interact with others to evaluate usage, find opportunities, conduct tests, and implement change. this individual routinely works with other members of the maintenance systems group, pm power users, materials management, technical experts, plant personnel, and the it sap resources. good team, interpersonal and coordination skills are required, and the ability to communicate clearly.most challenging part of the job: a challenge is the cycle of establishing a product, evaluating its use and value, and continually optimizing the content. consistent application and use is important.
