Technician - auto maintenance - bodyshop repairs - saudi arabia, jeddah
Role purpose: carry out high quality welding as required on fleet of vehicles, ensuring minimum downtime of company assets. accountabilities:1- comply with all safety (w/shop & personal) related standards.2- inspect vehicle chassis or body, identify areas of corrosion/cracks/areas of weakness and replace with new metal.3- prepare metal surfaces for painting. 4- cut shape and bend metal using oxy-acetylene, hydraulic presses/guillotines, drills and lathes to repair, maintain or create new metal pieces to fit to vehicle-to-vehicle chassis's, chassis cabs or beverage bodies.5- diagnose structural faults on chassis/body, recommend corrective action and carry out repair.6- remove and refit chassis/body parts to gain access to weld area.skills basic job requirements:1- recognized welding (mig/electric) apprenticeship or recognized technical diploma/trade certificate.2- minimum of 3 years experience working in a company specializing in aluminium/steel welding both horizontal & vertical. able to use ‘lincoln'or similar quality mig welding plant.3- valid saudi driving license (commercial vehicle driving license would be an advantage)weld using both gas & electric (stick welding). 4- bilingual (arabic & english). able to read and write in english would also be an advantagecarry out high quality mig/electric welding as required.5- ensure all spare parts used are correctly requested in the inspection report.6- attend breakdown repairs as and when necessary.
