Industry specific experience: extensive work experience at a senior level within the oil & gas industry.minimum 15 years design experience within the oil and gas industry, with last 5 years’ at least, leading a team of structural discipline engineers and designersextensive technical, practical and leadership experience in the structural discipline in the same or similar industry, including experience managing and leading multi-disciplinary projects and teams.demonstrate a visible and active commitment to hse management and its associated requirements in a project environment.a thorough knowledge of the regulations, codes and standards (american, british and other international codes, standards and specifications) and a good understanding of offshore engineering practices applicable to structural design for oil and gas facilities. experience in brown field works & asset services type project / contracts.experience in green field works & asset services type project / contracts.excellent technical and practical engineering skills and able to consistently deliver quality, accurate and timely work to client and its clients.expertise in engineering and designing of structures associated with oil & gas facilities an excellent knowledge of applicable local and international standards and statutory and regulatory requirements. competent in the use of relevant structural discipline specific software.skillsit skills: sacs, usfos, mathcad and ms office softwarepeople skills:able to work in diverse teamable to make difficult decisions and lead and manage others in changing business conditions.highly effective people management skills such as leadership, team, interpersonal, coaching, mentoring and supervisory skills. must be able to build, motivate, develop and manage an effective team.highly effective management skills including the ability to plan, set goals; and manage time, priorities, resources, accountabilities, schedules and cost.understands client vision and purpose, translates it into team goals and objectives, and gains team commitment to achieving those goals and objectives. effectively manages and resolves conflict between individuals and/or groups.negotiates successful outcomes that achieve the required objectives and have the support and acceptance of all parties.  general accountabilities:comply and keep up-to-date with the behaviour and business practices outlined in client processes, and with all applicable laws, regulations and standards. develop personnel to share client values, beliefs and a commitment to the client vision, and who demonstrate the expected behaviour, competencies and performance associated with their role or task.encourage a team-based work environment that leverages the expertise and knowledge of the team and nurtures a climate of care and trust.deliver quality services and demonstrate a commitment to understand and meet customer needs.demonstrate a visible and active commitment to achieving the client vision and its associated requirements.act in the best interests of client at all times.perform any other duties that are reasonably required from time to time.determines methods and solutions for complex engineering problems and selects the most efficient and economical manner for meeting objectives. applies advanced engineering techniques and analysis. is fully conversant in the profession and proficient in the utilization of current engineering theories and practices. arrives punctually for work and meetings.demonstrates commitment to the organisation.complies with legal obligations and safety requirements of the role.ability to work to tight deadlines and prioritisation of work to achieve them.
