Acquire an in-depth understanding of the project area’s main subcontract, main contract with employer and the major subcontracts of the interfacing parties.implement project area’s main subcontract ensuring compliance with commercial practices and post contracts awards process.prepare contract review matrix of the project area’s main subcontract, including a gap assessment of the project’s obligations to its employer, and the highlight the commercial/contractual impact of any failure to achieve these obligations.monitor performance of the project area’s main subcontract, ensure compliance with the contract’s terms and conditions, and manage potential contract defaults.review contract specifications, works with stakeholders (pm/pd) to identify risks or gaps in the project plan and support pm in the development and implementation of risk management planidentify commercial risks and opportunities, establish strategic objectives and maintain a plan to achieve the target projected cost and schedule.maintain good relations, facilitate exchange of information between company, contractors and internal stakeholders to assure alignment of strategic objectives.develop, negotiate, and manage all commercial agreements/contracts to mitigate risk and optimise opportunities.work closely with the project’s qs function, to periodically re-measure subcontractor’s works and leverage the data to; validate applications for payment, trend cost to completion, quantify project area’s entitlements to recover cost and or claims.review application for payment and ensure compliance with the requirements of the conditions of the project area’s main subcontract.prepare and negotiate contract amendments and deeds of variations to the project’s main subcontract, as required.mitigate project expenses without compromising quality.comply with liens and limits of authority.provide forward impact analyses and budgetary reporting internally and externally.lead and ensure the effective collation of data and information, provide analyses and reporting in a timely and periodic manner.analyze monthly progress situations against previous forecasts to understand trends.support the project manager in analysis and decision-making regarding critical milestones and invoicing.prepare feasibility studies with recommendations on cost-effective measures.proactively manage and enact the change control process to agreed quality and timescales in order to maximise the commercial and operational benefit to the programensure that agreed contractual milestones are maintained, provide ample notice to the main functions if there is a risk of delay so that timely recovery strategies can be devised.maintain commercial tools such as key bidding documents and proposal templates post award updated and logically structured so that they are readily available when requiredbe an active member in the cross-functional project team, liaising with engineering, procurement, quantity surveyors, construction, quality, commissioning, operations and other functions; identify potential areas of concern, brief the cross-functions on contractual obligations and resolve areas of concern before they escalate.interface with finance department to develop best financial metrics in relation to bonds, hedging, payment and bank guarantees.follow and comply with company, project and project controls department procedures and techniques, recommend updates or opportunities to improve commercial managementensure good practice and strict controls are implemented in relation to change orders, variations, claims, etc. (including the assessment of fee claims and advising on dispute resolution)skillscontracts and claim manager (open)
