Job summarythe vascular access nurse specialist is responsible for the development and provision of evidence based nursing clinical practice related to vascular access. this includes peripherally inserted central catheters (piccs) with reference to insertion, trouble-shooting, and education for nurses. while working collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team, the vascular access nurse specialist will act as a clinical expert, professional role model and change agent to promote practice development and quality initiatives that promote the delivery of safe, efficient and high quality vascular access.the vascular access nurse specialist is also responsible for the monitoring of compliance to policies and standards. the vascular access nurse specialist will collate vascular access / picc data and compile reports on a monthly and annual basis.education/licensureessential:        bachelor degree or diploma in nursing, minimum 3 years duration (western, saudi, malaysia, south africa) or prince sultan cardiac centre diploma program (saudi).bachelor degree of nursing (filipino andeastern europe ).essential:        certified picc insertion course (adult / paediatric / neonate).essential:        current licensure (rn) with a nursing governing body from the employee’s country of origin.essential:        license from saudi commission for health specialities.essential:        bls certification.desirable:       certified picc instructor trainingprofessional experienceessential:        five (5) years recent clinical nursing experience with at least 2 years in a nursing management or education position.desirable:      two (2) years experience working in nursing intravenous or vascular access related rolesskillspersonal qualities/skillsexcellent english verbal and written communication skills, including ability to provide verbal and written summaries and rationale to a diverse audience.excellent interpersonal skills and able to work effectively as a member of a team.management skills needed to initiate, develop, implement and evaluate complex, multiple projects from inception to completion.excellent ability to exercise sound independent judgment and effectively manage time and resources with minimal supervision. excellent organizational skills.have knowledge of quality improvement principles as well as assessment techniques.have appreciation of cultural diversity and sensitivity towards target population.educationnursing
