Install and maintain electrical systems in various types of buildings, including commercial and residential properties.read and interpret electrical drawings, blueprints, and electrical code specifications to determine the layout of installation.conduct routine maintenance and troubleshooting on electrical systems to identify and repair faults.replace or repair wiring, equipment, or fixtures using hand tools and power tools.follow all safety procedures and comply with local building and electrical codes.perform inspections of systems to ensure they are safe, functioning efficiently, and meet dewa standards.coordinate with other professionals, such as architects, engineers, and builders, to understand the requirements of electrical systems within the building.prepare and maintain records detailing all maintenance, repair, and installation activities.educate customers on the safe and efficient use of electrical systems and appliances within the building.manage the dewa handover process, which includes ensuring the electrical installations meet dewa’s regulations, preparing the necessary documentation, and liaising with dewa inspectors.stay updated with the latest electrical products, technologies, and dewa regulations to ensure the highest quality of work.skillsdiploma in electrical engineering or a related field, or an equivalent apprenticeship.proven experience as an electrician, with a focus on building installations.a valid electrician’s license or certification as required by local regulations.good knowledge of dewa regulations and the handover process.ability to read and follow technical diagrams and blueprints.proficiency in using electrical and hand tools, as well as electrical testing and measurement instruments.strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.excellent communication and interpersonal skills.ability to work independently and in a team.physically capable of lifting heavy objects and working in confined spaces.
