Business development managerjob summary:developing and implementing short-term & long-term business development strategies for accelerating growth with sustained profitability in line with annual business plan along with managing and enhancing the sales & distribution operations of travel & accessories brands in uae & the region. strengthening and overseeing the retail operations of the business division in uae and expanding the retail network through potential partners in the region. identifying sales leads, building and promoting the brands, positioning goods or services in the appropriate markets, and expanding the retail chain in the middle east.key responsibilities:regional distribution: research and identify new business opportunities - including new markets, growth areas, trends, customers, partnerships, products and services - or new ways of reaching existing markets.manage the buying function with the preparation and analysis of buying reports, meeting with suppliers & vendors and the order of approved products. ensure the pricing strategy per brand is being properly implemented and followed by analyzing price tracking of competition benchmarking at regional level.work closely with the sales & operations team to identify and develop new product or positioning opportunities and fulfill these opportunities through new products or through improvisation of existing products. close new business deals, distributorship, retail alliance, etc.; developing and negotiating contracts; and integrating contract requirements with business operations.managing the new venture process, whilst liaising with the suppliers & customers to ensure the process is smooth from start to finish.negotiate trade terms with distributor / partner - volume targets, rebates, price changes, etc.analyze sales and stock availability at the distribution level and ensure optimum level of stock for smooth business operation. work very closely with supply chain team to distribute sales targets month wise, geography/country wise and brand wise as relevant in line with the business plan. adapt measures to maintain healthy inventory and action plan for liquidation of aged stocks. manage both our existing sales pipeline (brands) and developing new business opportunities with good market knowledge and local network. manage commercial and operations team for conceptualizing, planning, and implementing brand promotion cycles along with necessary collaterals. identify the best sales channel, develop marketing strategies, design and participate in large scale sales promotion / demos. anticipate risks & opportunities for the existing and new business opportunities. formulate and design digital marketing strategy in line with brand strategies and guidelines & manage all digital marketing channels. implement digital & social media marketing strategy, trade marketing strategy, and manage e-commerce website and online sales and recommend measures to increase brand awareness of all relevant brands & improve sales as per market needs.retail operations: oversee retail operations in the uae, ensuring smooth and efficient functioning of all retail outlets.locate or propose potential business deals & retail opportunities by contacting potential partners as well as managing the pipeline of new brands by studying integration of new venture with company strategies and operations.responsible for lease contract renewals, and termination, with a focus on optimizing terms and conditions to minimize costs and maximize benefits for the organization.manage operations team for conceptualizing, planning, and implementing brand promotion cycles along with necessary collaterals.ensuring perfect execution of the planned btl and merchandizing activities.assist in the coordination and implementation of marketing strategies, and delegate tasks that achieve strategic goals.conduct market visits, track performance and report metrics.shoulder overall responsibility for the retail division's sales and revenue, profitability and growth.skillsqualifications / experience / technical skills required: bachelor’s degree in business administration / commerce / marketing or any other relevant field. 5 to 7 years’ experience in managing retail operations / sales & distributions operations / business development functions. experience in travel goods, fashion and luxury brands will be an added advantage. experience in developing & fostering key relationships; increasing sales, brand management, p&l management; knowledge of key financial indicators.  it skills including anyone of the erp system will be required.
