Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress, identify and address safety hazards, and ensure compliance with safety regulations.oversee construction activities, verifying they align with plans and specifications.interpret blueprints and technical drawings to stake out locations for buildings, roads, utilities, and other structures.address technical issues arising during construction, working with engineers, surveyors, and subcontractors to find solutions.perform or oversee quality control tests on materials and construction methods.liaise with construction crews, foremen, and subcontractors, providing technical guidance and resolving onsite challenges.communicate progress updates, potential delays, and any critical information to project managers and other stakeholders.maintain detailed site documentation, including inspection reports, photographs, and as-built drawings reflecting any deviations from original plans.skillstechnical skills:proficiency in using surveying equipment and software to stake out locations, set elevations, and ensure construction adheres to plans.strong understanding of different construction materials, their properties, and proper handling procedures.knowledge of various construction techniques and their applications for different project elements (foundations, drainage, etc.).ability to perform or oversee quality control tests on materials and construction practices to ensure they meet project specifications.soft skills:clear and concise communication.the ability to think critically, identify and troubleshoot problems that arise on the site, and develop effective solutions.collaboration and coordination with diverse teams – construction crews, subcontractors, engineers – to achieve project goals.being flexible and able to adjust to unexpected situations, changes in plans, or unforeseen challenges on the construction site.a keen eye for detail to ensure construction adheres to plans and specifications, minimizing errors and rework.
