Role and responsibilities: under the leadership of the hub manager and with direct supervision of the unit head of logistics the intern will benefit from close mentoring, guidance, and technical supervision. performance planning and reviews as well as learning and development discussions will be an elemental part of the internship experience. with the support of a comprehensive induction package and some exciting soft-skills trainings, the intern will rapidly become a productive member of the team.prepare logistics documentation (i.e. creating work orders, draft packing list and delivery advices for out-bound shipment).assist in the tendering process and tenders’ analysisliaise with freight forwarders for out-bound shipment execution.follow-up on requests with local authorities, support for drafting requests to ihc, moh and mofa.monitor food shelf life and expiring date of medical items and follow-up disposal process of expired itemsprepare a concept note for one or two innovative supply chain projects that would leverage the uae know-how in terms of technology, ai, digitization and meet the humanitarian needsskillsrole requirements:currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a supply chain management, business administration, commerce or related university program. wfp interns are required to have completed at least two years of their university programme or, if fresh graduates, they should have attended classes in the past 12 months;strong report writing, data analysis, communication skills with an ability to pay attention to details.collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively in a dynamic team environment. willingness to contribute ideas and support colleagues in various tasks.demonstrated interest in humanitarian efforts and a commitment to making a positive impact.ability to adapt to changing priorities and work in a fast-paced environment. proactive attitude and a willingness to take on new challenges.proficient in english and arabic.training componentsthroughout their assignment wfp interns have access to an industry-leading learning platform, welearn. depending on opportunities and availability of funds, he/she may participate in wfp workshops or seminars, as appropriate. learning elementsat the end of the assignment, the intern should have:an overview of how wfp works and how logistics actions are handled in the organization.a good understanding of the humanitarian/development processes and systems in the field of logisticsan interesting experience in identifying needs in the field and how leading-edge technologies can meet these
