Overview of the role: sr. buyer merchandiser is responsible for identifying & delivering a range appropriate to the region, whilst working with the uk to ensure product & pricing strategy are correct and relevant for the mena region and there by achieve the key business kpi’s of sales, cash margin, markdown cost and closing stock. what you will do:-description of accountability: business plan and delivery of key kpi’scontinuously search for business opportunities to increase sales and cash marginin depth knowledge of bu, markets operated in and key competitor’srecommends & produces analysis to make good forward planning decisionsmaintains bu wssi sales and otb planningassists & supports senior merchandiser with planning appropriate sales and cash margin by department/range/storeassists in planning appropriate space for each department/ range in each storeassists in planning appropriate otb and options by t department/rangecut otb: core v fashion flow v fashionassist in planning appropriate e-commerce buy range detail planningmanagement of core template to size level to drive core availabilitysize cut analysis & recommendation by department/ marketplan appropriate good/ better/ best offersufficient volume on key opp’sappropriate colour balanceauthoritative product statements on hero product product selectiondetailed preparation for uk buying fairsassist in developing a clear ibo strategyconfident product selection and range balancingensure buys are in line with the shop visual plan strategyopportunity buys to support marketing strategyspend controlmargin optimizationright balance of core & fashion tradeattend weekly team meeting and suggest actions to drive businessprepare weekly store communication (gm action news)manage allocation blueprintmanage replenishment strategy by type of product/ marketrecommend consolidations to the senior merchandiserassist in implementation of a robust promotional calendarassist in implementation of a robust innovations communicationensure opening price points well executed and messaged in-storeeffective markdown management – controlling shop in shopstatements but clearing seasonal lines market awarenessconduct quarterly comp shopsreport on key actions to remain price competitivereport on key missed opportunitiesassist in conducting bi – annual swot with store championsengage in store visits stakeholder engagementbuild good relationships with colleagues within m&sbuild good relationships with m&s operations team, vm team and marketing teambuild good working relationship with uk leading peopleguide & train assistant merchandiser & allocator to develop into the next rolebe involved in appraisals skillsrequired skills to be successful: interpersonal skills.problem analysis and problem-solvingdelighting our customerscollaboration managing complexity taking initiativedrive for results what equips you for the role:bachelor degree (masters preferred)5+ years’ experience in fashion buying and merchandisingexperience within a retail buying environment in mena and/or europe and experience of uk/european brands.able to handle complexityexcellent planning and organizing skillsattention to detailhighly numerateproduct confidentgood communicatoroptimistic attitudeworks at pace with an impatience to get things donecultural awarenesswomenswear or middle east experience preferredgraduate or graduate calibregood working knowledge of excelknowledge of sap an additional advantage
