Duties and responsibilitiesabide by the medical staff bylaws, code of medical ethics, rules and regulations of the medical staff and those specific to the departmentprovide the highest attainable standard of medical care for the patients for whom he/she is responsible complying with msd standardized medical staff by-lawscarry out full range of inpatient and outpatient clinical duties as assigned by the consultant/senior registrar in accordance with individually approved clinical privileges.participate in the on-call duties as required by the departmentinstruct and guide when necessary junior medical staff in the overall care of patients,supervises their performance/work and contributes to the training and teaching activities in the departmentreport and discuss all unusual findings, complication or alterations in the management plan, with the consultant/senior registrarwork towards completing his post graduate training and passing the final part hismembership or saudi board.deal and treat a life threatening conditions.resuscitate or stabilize patients and refer them to the appropriate medical departments for further evaluation or discharge safely from emergency.work as part of a team with physicians of other specialties and other members of the emergency room staffthink and act quickly to make a tentative diagnosis and determine the appropriate course of treatment.serve patients with critical conditions and acute conditions.demonstrate diagnostic and therapeutic skills for ethical and effective patient emergency care. access and apply relevant information to clinical practice.demonstrate effective consultation services with respect to patient emergency care, education and legal opinion.develop competency in patient care and decision making for the emergency patient.demonstrate an understanding of the pathophysiology of disease and injury and the natural history of disease and illness.demonstrate the prompt recognition of acute illness and injury.demonstrate an understanding of the principles of resuscitation, investigation, diagnosis and management decision making.perform a clinical assessment and to collect all appropriate information.attend the continuing medical education program of the departmentparticipate in the improvement of quality of patient care (total quality managementprogram, quality assessment improvement program) as applicable.fulfill the requirements of the saudi council for health specialties with regard to continuing medical education.participate in and/or actively supports approved research projectsserve on hospital committees as requested.deputize for his superior as required and shares workload in his specialty during the absence of his colleagues.strive to improve his clinical expertise as well as standard of practice with regard to morbidity and cost effectiveness.participate in the major disaster plan of the hospital, as indicatedacquire and maintain a valid certification in advanced cardiac life support (acls).perform other applicable tasks and duties assigned within the realm of the employee's knowledge, skills and abilities.skillsself-motivated and with awareness of current trends in the fieldinvestigation and negotiation skills for the resolution of issuesability to work in a multi-cultural environment.ability to relate well to other medical practitioners, other healthprofessionals, patients.ability to speak, write and read arabic and english.educationgraduate from a recognized medical school.&completion training certificate or equivalent in the department specialty.&valid registration from saudi commission for health specialties as registrar.
