Job porpose:conduct the maintenance (preventive, corrective and breakdown) of all spreaders in qcs & rtgs in the most efficient and effective manner, making sure that jobs are done in the quickest and most cost effective way, keeping in mind quality and safety protocols key accountabilities be able to carry out the below duties without direct supervision.be able to carry out assigned jobs safely, satisfactorily, accurately & cost effectivelycarry out mechanical maintenance, fault finding and monitoring the qcs & rtgs spreaders and other related equipment and carry out the tasks assigned by engineer & foremanconduct all preventive & corrective maintenance activities of the qcs & rtgs spreaders and other related equipment meticulously and make sure all items in the checklist are complete adhering to the stipulated timesensure that all preventive & corrective maintenance (mechanical) is conducted as defined in the systemindependently able to attend breakdowns as reported by staff & equipment control on immediate basisensure accurate, up to date information is provided in the work order for input into the systemensure that work order is generated (in coordination with optimization team) for all mechanical work performed on the cranessubmit correct information about start time and end time of maintenance activitycarry out duties independently when called out and report breakdowns and faultsensure that emergency work is followed up by reporting to foremanensure work practice conforms to safety regulations and proceduresensures tidiness and cleanliness of workshop facilities and all equipment for which his team is responsiblesubmit routine inspection and monitoring reports as requirednumber and nature of accidents. ensure safety principles are followed maintain constant communication with the engineers to ensure effective crane workshop operationsensure maximum operational availability of all engineering machines/equipment’s by diagnostic work and repair methodsresponsible to maintain safety and discipline in the work areaensure compliance with fatal risk standardsensure compliance with safe work practicesensure compliance with hse policyreporting accidents and ‘near misses’ in accordance with defined safety procedures skills 5. qualifications, experience and skills experience in container in container terminals and different types of container spreaders / ohf & man cages / pinning stationsmandatory: 3 to 4 yearseducationpreferable: diploma/b-tech/b.e. in mechanical engineering detailed knowledge of a wide range of heavy mechanical engineering equipment, & hydraulic systems, brakes, etc.knowledge about lifting chain and wire ropesconversant with technical/ parts manuals, and drawingsfully conversant with safety proceduresgood communication skills
