We are looking for a motivated and experienced individual to join our team as a capital and growth commercial specialist for a leading mining and metals company. as the capital and growth commercial specialist, you will play a vital role in planning and executing the project controls requirements for a project. you will collaborate with various stakeholders, including site representatives, management, and functional leads, to ensure successful project outcomes.responsibilities:provide support to mining and metals projects by conducting financial analysis, forecasting, budgeting, and identifying cost savings opportunities.gain an understanding of program/project run rates, trends, and factors influencing portfolio fluctuations.review and process contractor invoices, customer invoices, and timecard/other direct cost (odc) corrections.organize and prioritize large volumes of information effectively.develop and implement a project control plan as part of the project execution plan (pep) for project execution.assist the project manager with financial analysis, forecasting, budgets, and cost savings opportunities.conduct contract profitability reviews, comparing pricing to actual costs.prepare monthly reports, including customer reports, estimate at completion (eac) reports, and business review charts, to support ad hoc requirements.work under general supervision, with work being reviewed for adequacy and accuracy.ensure control and integrity of work as defined by the contract.review and approve capital expenditures and functional budgets within the supply chain organization.support the budgeting and planning process with operations and other functions.skillsrequirements:bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain, accounting, or a related field, or equivalent experience.two (2) to four (4) years of progressive experience in supply chain roles, including leadership and direct reports.equivalent experience, certification, and educational background will be considered and may be substituted at the discretion of the company.internationally recognized professional qualification in supply chain management is preferred.mining experience is highly desirable.commercial training in contracts, negotiation, and supply chain management.ability to read technical drawings.understanding of the risks associated with construction and capital projects in the mining and metals industry.strong computer skills, including proficiency in excel, word, powerpoint, ms projects, and visio.knowledge of enterprise-level software packages is necessary.excellent written and verbal communication skills.
