job description
position summary:
leads, directs, manages and mentors a team of commodity managers, including electronics, and support personnel to meet annual company and sourcing objectives. responsible for driving material cost downs, supplier terms improvement, best value country (bvc) sourcing, commodity strategies and annual operations planning for a select group of commodities within their sourcing team. works closely with team commodity managers to achieve annual objectives. manages global supplier relationships, including electronics, to ensure that products and services are delivered to the quality, cost and delivery performance levels required. provides hiring, promotion and disciplinary action recommendations, as well as performance assessments and feedback on commodity managers.
executes sourcing vision and strategy for commodities managed by the sourcing team, including bvc objectives and developing team synergy. collaborates with other internal functions to ensure that we meet customer requirements. monitors supplier relationships to ensure strategic alignment and sustainability. ensures standadized processes are followed as required.
assists in coaching and developing the team to enhance sourcing fundamentals, negotiation skills, relationship building, effective communications and business acumen.
manage commodity/commodities, if and where necessary, including electronics to assist sourcing team to meet it%26rsquo;s overall goals and objectives.
significant electronics background in dealing with both contract manufacturers and electronic components is a must.
major responsibilities:
leads and manages a team of commodity managers and support personnel for a defined set of commodities direct material sourcing, collaborating with commercial system%26rsquo;s other sourcing team lead the sourcing team%26rsquo;s electronics sourcing commodities drive/manage sourcing team to meet business objectives, including significant material cost downs, payment terms improvement and best value country sourcing objectives, as well as others. interact closely with commercial system%26rsquo;s plants, to meet customer requirements and to identify areas of cost down and bvc sourcing manage all supplier relationships within assigned team commodities, including globally with bvc suppliers supplier negotiations and contracting hiring, promotions, evaluations and disciplinary feedback and recommendations manage individual commodity/commodities, if and where necessary support commercial system%26rsquo;s director of global sourcing, where appropriate/necessary, for career growthrequired education / experience / skills:
bachelor%26#39;s degree or equivalent related experience. 10+ years. master%26rsquo;s degree a distinct positive green belt in lean six sigma within 3 years proven negotiation skills proven track record obtaining material cost out (mco) savings background and track record of successful best value country (bvc) sourcing ability to build relationships, both externally and internally, to deliver successful team objectives ability to think and act strategically in support of business and team objectivestravel:
