Covid case investigator (rn) - united states, kingston south east

a health services organization in new york state is currently seeking a licensed registered nurse (rn) to join their staff in ulster county as their new covid case investigator. in this role, the covid case investigator (rn) will be responsible for calling every person diagnosed with covid-19, establishing all contacts of this person, and proceeding to call and maintain ongoing communication with every contact. 

responsibilities

the covid case investigator (rn) will be responsible for:

contacting people with laboratory-confirmed, probable, and suspected diagnoses of covid-19 providing health education and guidance in order to interrupt ongoing disease transmission conducting interviews with patients to gather information, including symptom history, source of illness, list of close contacts, and activity history while infectious providing patients with instructions for isolation and making appropriate referrals to testing, clinical services, and other essential support services, as indicated following-up with healthcare providers to obtain additional medical and socio-demographic information and confirming patient receipt of test results and/or diagnosis of covid-19 performing other duties, as needed

qualifications:

2+ years of nursing experience associate's and/or bachelor's degree in nursing active nys licensed registered nurse (rn) solid assessment, clinical, and documentation skills patient oriented great interpersonal skills excellent communication skills (written and verbal) strong attention to detail highly organized desired skills: experience in clinical medicine and/or public health experience in a health, human services, community-based, and/or institutional setting bi/multilingual
