Health and safety officer competitive salary full time pr25 3ey our client are a leading home improvement company supplying conservatories, orangeries, double glazing windows and upvc doors in cheshire, lancashire, staffordshire, merseyside, and greater manchester. due to continued growth, we are looking to recruit a full time health and safety officer to work as part of our construction and installation teams. this is a development opportunity for the successful applicant to grow their health and safety career with great opportunities to progress. you will work closely with the head of operations and heads of departments to develop procedures and safety documentation. you will provide support to the installation and building operatives and monitor and report on the safety standards during the construction phase. you will be a highly driven individual, motivated and determined to succeed with relevant h&s experience and the desire to provide industry leading levels of health and safety. you will be given the opportunity to flourish and progress within a fast paced, forward thinking environment and will be supported to achieve further safety qualifications, such as graduate status. standard hours of work are monday to friday 8.30am to 5.00pm. you must be a driver with your own car, flexible and willing to travel across sites to the customer locations role responsibilities work autonomously but with some external support and provide advice, guidance, and assistance in matters of health and safety. develop good working relationships with all levels of the workforce and customers to promote a positive health and safety culture. the ability to communicate, coordinate and cooperate with personnel and contractors during the pre-construction and construction phases of the project. co-ordinate the company`s risk assessment programme and advise management of necessary control measures. to produce site audits and inspection reports. to develop, deliver and record toolbox talks. the ability to develop, update and review existing risk assessments and method statements. to develop and maintain new and existing policies and procedures. administer the company accident reporting and investigating procedures. identify health and safety training needs and provide or source training. carry out h&s induction training for new employees and contractors. identify implications of changes to relevant legislation and/or hse guidance. to maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending training opportunities. to maintain quality services by establishing and enforcing organisational standards. to work in accordance with health and safety regulations, and also ensuring the health and safety of all staff. reporting near misses and riddor. any other reasonable duty that may be assigned. carry out regular site safety audits to ensure policies and procedures are being properly implemented. essential skills/qualifications qualified to nebosh construction level. a minimum of tech iosh. good knowledge and application of construction design management 2015 regulations especially to the domestic market. cdm 2015 client support for in house construction work. proven track record of being able to work to deadlines. desirable requirements pttls level 3 teacher training. cscs card. smsts. good understanding of building regulations. experience in facility management. person attributes excellent planning and organisational skills. the ability to demonstrate effective time management and prioritise tasks. a good working knowledge of microsoft packages with previous experience of working on excel and the ability to type accurately with good attention to detail. excellent communication skills with the ability to develop good working relationships with internal and external contacts. excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to analyse the problem and provide a mutually beneficial solution. excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate both verbally and in writing and develop a good rapport with all contacts. a proactive approach to work with the ability to prioritise and manage own workload. good listening skills. the ability to collect and interpret data in a logical manner. the ability to challenge existing work practices, identify areas for improvement and implement new processes and plan. a willingness to undertake further training with the ability to implement learning into your daily work strong team working skills with the ability to provide support to team members a strong sense of humour with the ability to manage and implement change. a highly motivated individual with a can do approach to work and the ability to get the job done in the
