Carer and or rgn - various shifts - united kingdom, claygate

Hi there, i am a 37 year old female living in the esher, surrey area, looking to expand my home care team with either 1 or 2 new members; i live alone with 24/7 care provision - i do not want nor currently receive live in care. i have recently had a vacancy come up within my team and am looking for exceptional, experienced carers to replace them - carers need to be able to cover a rota of week-day and weekend shifts (11am-6pm) plus some evening shifts (6pm-9:30pm), as well as being able to be flexible enough to cover holiday and sickness leave of other team members and vice versa - there may be occasional night shifts. i have severe ehlers danlos syndrome with mast cell disorder, gastroparesis and neck instability - i suffer from long term chronic pain and i wear a hard neck collar 24/7. i also suffer from seizures so you must have be able to keep a cool head in these situations and have some prior experience of seizure management. i require help with administering im and subcutaneous injections and other controlled medications - after appropriate training you could be fully responsible for administering injections to me during your shifts as well as drawing up and administering all other medications; you will therefore need to be competent in medication management, alongside accurate medication recording, note recording and following and potentially writing a new care plan as and when required on an annual basis. some on the job training will be provided particularly in my own personalised care needs and routine, but you must already be competent in complex care and/or have held a similar position previously. you will be working on a 1:1 basis with me in my own home and therefore the fit between ourselves is imperative - it is essential that you are someone with a cheerful disposition who is able to easily 'fit-in' whilst also building trusting, caring, working relationships with your clients and other team members; some days you will be the only person that i will see for social contact, being a naturally outgoing person i would there fore like my new carer(s) to be people who enjoy holding the company of others, whom are willing to help me find new ways to continue to access activities within my local community whilst using my electric wheelchair and help me to continue to pursue my hobbies despite my illnesses/disabilities -i particularly enjoy arts and crafts, gardening, socialising, films, music etc. i will need you to also help me with all aspects of personal care, advocating with medical professionals, attending medical appointments and light domestic duties - light snack and drink preparation, clothes washing, dishwasher, etc (i have a cleaner separate to my carers). you will be someone who is not easily offended but sensitive to my needs including that of being able to recognise when to take a step back in order to allow me to have either quiet rest alone time or to give me space and time to with my friends and family whilst remaining on site and available for care when and if required. you will also not be phased by the frustrations and emotions of a young person, in significant pain with their life having been totally turned on it's head within the last 3 years due to deteriorating illness; to be someone who is able to provide a listening ear - i can become easily distressed if my pain levels spike too high and it is at these times that i will need you to be able to offer a calming, supportive and reassuring manner. ultimately you will be able to provide me with a safe level of care, be someone whom i can trust wholeheartedly, who can become part of my family and care team whilst being someone with whom i can share a laugh with, and whom enjoys their job and vice versa. ideally you would be an rgn with an active rcn membership number or a level 4-5 healthcare assistant with sufficient experience in my areas of need. a genuine occupational requirement for the job is that you are fully covid vaccinated, prepared to wear masks throughout your shift (plus other ppe items if necessary) and know and follow nhs infection control standards and hand washing technique. i am immune compromised and to that end would prefer someone that has their own transport to get to and from work -does not need to travel on public transport - to keep infection risks to a minimum. pay rate is very good for this type of work within my local area (available upon application). you will be enrolled and paid via a paye scheme, as well as enrolled on a pension scheme, and given a good annual leave package. you must have excellent references, a valid dbs and be eligible to work in the uk with a number of years health care experience. age is but a number but due to the intimate personal care needs of this position a female will be required to fulfil the post. this job will challenge but reward in equal measure the right candidate. there is no closing date as such as this is an urgent position to fulfil. i really look forward to you potentially becoming not only a part of my care team, but also a part of my life and my family. carers/nurses to date have come on holidays and excursions with me, my friends and family and it would be wonderful to find similar people again. i look forward to hearing from you.
