general summary:

the business continuity, associate is responsible for the development, implementation, testing, and maintenance of hyundai capital canada's business continuity program. the associate will also serve as the backup to hca's business continuity manager and assist with implementation, testing and maintenance of hca's bc program. at the direction of hca's bc manager, the associate will provide leadership and expertise for the full scope of hcca's bc functions including risk analysis, management of the bc program and processes, and project management and emergency preparedness. the associate will collaborate with hcca's department leadership to establish and maintain plans to ensure the continuity of operations in all facets of hcca's operations.

duties and responsibilities:
provide support and direction to hcca in the development of a business continuity strategy, plan, and program perform business impact analysis assessments/updates develop department business continuity strategies develop and implement business department recovery plans maintain and update business continuity plans coordinate / facilitate tabletop and or functional department exercises coordinate with hcca's corp. services emergency preparedness strategies assist with the administration of hca's bc planning system and emergency mass communications system develop and implement communication, training, and testing strategy for department bc plans provide support and direction to the organization in the development of emergency preparedness strategies, plans, and programs. tasks include: coordinate site risk assessments with the facilities department develop emergency preparedness strategies for each site develop and implement site emergency response plans maintain and update emergency response plans coordinate building evacuation exercises identify and train emergency response (ert) and building evacuation team (bet) members provide first aid / cpr / aed training to selected ert and bet members maintain each sites automated external defibrillators (aed) interface and maintain relationships with local emergency authorities and property management staff support response and recovery efforts during disasters / emergency's 3. perform all other duties assigned by hca's bc manager.

4. provide regular status to leadership on the state of business continuity and state of emergency readiness.

knowledge and skills:
strong knowledge of bcp, er and information technology dr disciplines previous experience implementing bcp and er programs previous experience in planning / facilitating tabletop and or functional business department exercises strong analytical/organizational/time management skills. must be able to quickly conceptualize and explain new or modified bc, er and it dr processes and procedures strong interpersonal and communication skills. must be able to explain bc, er and it dr topics to others who may have minimal knowledge of the disciplines using oral, written and visual presentations must have the ability to work alone or in teams, with minimal oversight from the hca bc manager, driving positive results in extremely difficult circumstances while providing support and maintaining attention to detail

qualifications

5-7 years of relevant business continuity and emergency preparedness experience. bs in information technology, information systems, business management. other related business continuity / emergency preparedness training. cbcp, emergency response certifications preferred. physical requirements and working condition:

employees in this class are subject to extended periods of sitting, standing and walking, vision to monitor and moderate noise levels. work is performed in an office environment.
