Driver/technician salary: £22,100 tameside service centre sk16 4pw full time job purpose: responsible for carrying out the deliveries, collections, repairs, servicing and testing of community equipment. main duties and responsibilities: deliveries – to ensure pre-delivery inspection of all products and undertake the delivery and handover of community equipment to a service user at their home and/or other locations, as required. products have to be scanned into the home and scanner synchronised on return to the service centre. these activities must be carried out in accordance with ross care procedures. collections - responsible for the collection of community equipment, and on return to the service centre, must be scanned to the quarantine area. these must be carried out in accordance with ross care procedures repairs – responsible for carrying out repairs when required to do so. if unable to repair, the product has to be swapped. user safety is paramount at all times. installation – responsible for carrying out installation of equipment. the pipe detector that you have been trained to use must be used in all instances when fixing products. all installations to be carried out in line with ross care procedures emergency out-of-hours – when on call rota, responsible for responding to the 24/7 call centre to undertake an emergency repair or delivery. vans – responsible for your vehicle. must ensure that regular maintenance checks are carried out. responsible for the cleanliness of both the inside and outside of the van. responsible for logging mileage travelled each week, and you are aware that your vehicle has a tracker fitted that monitors speed, fuel consumption, braking, idling and where the vehicle is and has been. diesel – in all instances, the diesel card you have been provided with must be used, as this monitors the diesel you have used and the fuel consumption, i.e. miles per gallon/litre. tooling – responsible for your tools. you must take responsibility for any tools lost or damage. any problems must be reported to the service centre supervisor. administration – you must use your scanner for every movement of product, whether delivery/collection, repair or exchange. also, you are responsible for obtaining all signatures on the documentation issued to you for this purpose. communication – any problems that you have had with any job or product must be reported, verbally and in writing, to your supervisor. undertake- the job in line with the company appraisal competencies as follows: achieves business results and adds value to the company focuses on internal and external customers builds and maintains effective teamwork with colleagues embraces change and deals with ambiguity this job description shall not limit your role;
