requirements:

required: must posses a master's degree in nursing, counseling, or social workrequired: must be licensed as a rn, lcp, lcsw lmsw, dsw, msw, lbprequired: must be at lease 21 years of age

essential functions:

supports hospital mission, vision and values. and adheres to acadia's corporate compliance program and standards of conduct. learn about new developments in counseling by reading professional literature, attending courses and seminars, or establishing and maintaining contact with other social service agencies. maintains positive attendance record. maintains training requirements, professional licensure, and personal development appropriate for position. demonstrates flexibility in meeting the needs of the team and organization. demonstrates ability to provide constructive feedback and encouragement to patients and coworkers.  demonstrates ability to receive feedback and adjust behavior accordingly to meet performance standards. performs other duties relevant to the care of patients and safe functioning of facility as assigned.

demonstrates compassion and patience, and a deep level of concern for others. good communication skills are key, even when the patient is uncooperative, acting out, or verbally/physically aggressive. represents the facility in a manner that conveys a professional, positive, courteous, caring, and cooperative attitude. maintains a professional demeanor, positive attitude, and engages in constructive therapeutic interactions. demonstrates excellent verbal and written communication skills.  provides quality service to patients. treats internal and external customers with dignity and respect in a consistent manner at all times.  maintains therapeutic boundaries in accordance with acadia's zero tolerance protocols.  demonstrates supportive and constructive communication.  maintains a professional appearance consistent with the facility’s dress code.  mentors new staff and participates in orientation process and training as required.
