the logistics commodities & services transformation (lcst) programme for the uk ministry of defence is a critical effort to enhance and improve the uk's defence supply chain. the programme provides essential services such as storage and distribution for the mod's materiel, including a global freight service and the procurement and inventory management of 70,000 commodity nato stock number (nsns). working together with our industry partners we are helping to transform the uk's defence supply chain by providing an integration of complex services, at low risk, using a modern suite of systems that will deliver visibility, speed, and resilience to the defence supply chain. if this sounds like the kind of environment where you can thrive, keep reading! head of operational performance, leidos europe ltd the team leidos (tl) head of operational performance is primarily responsible for the provision of management information (mi) and business intelligence (bi) for the logistics commodities and services transformation (lcst) programme. as a key member of the tl operations management team, the head of operational performance will routinely brief the lcst senior leadership team (slt) and senior customers on programme performance, root causes of variances and opportunities for improvement. location: the role requires a blend of home and office working (in bristol and bicester); limited travel to other locations may be required. key responsibilities: lead and integrate the mi and bi teams, split across 2 or more locations. manage provision of contractual and business intelligence outputs for external and internal stakeholders on a daily, weekly and monthly basis. establish and maintain key performance indicators that will provide early warning on changes in operational performance and provide performance predictions based on current and historical performance. ensure business requirements for reporting are documented for all mi and bi outputs. oversee user acceptance testing for the programme enterprise data warehouse with respect to mi and bi outputs. evaluate all current performance metrics and mi/bi outputs and make recommendations for changes and consolidation to meet internal and external stakeholder needs. interact professionally and confidently with customers and senior stakeholders across the business, interpreting and briefing data and root cause analysis. create data sets, extract relevant summary information and brief relevant, actionable data to internal and external stakeholders. evaluate current processes, identify best practices, develop plans to reach goals and implement improvements. analyse lcst logistics activities and trends utilising business analytics; comparative analyses against service standards and best practices. use data to solve business problems, identify opportunities for improvement, identify cause-and-effect relationships between variables and design/evaluate experiments, identify gaps and inconsistencies; clearly communicate and provide recommendations to the slt. develop an lcst dashboard to present mi to the slt in an interactive electronic format. essential competencies: 10 or more years of experience with management information and data analytics. supply chain logistics expertise, ideally in the defence industry. 5 or more years of experience managing high performing teams. proven experience interacting with and briefing senior stakeholders. desirable competencies: professional qualification in analysis, science, engineering, or logistics subject at degree level, or equivalent in experience. clearance required: clearance to start bpss clearance for role sc what do we do for you?: at leidos we are passionate about customer success, united as a team and inspired to make a difference. we offer meaningful and engaging careers, a collaborative culture, and support for your career goals, all while nurturing a healthy work-life balance. we provide an employment package that attracts, develops and retains only the best in talent. our reward scheme includes: • contributory pension scheme • 33 days annual leave (including public and privilege holidays) • access to flexible benefits (including life assurance, health schemes, childcare vouchers and cycle to work scheme) • dynamic working: commitment to diversity: we welcome applications from every part of the community and are committed to a truly diverse and inclusive culture. we foster a sense of belonging, welcoming all perspectives and contributions, and providing equal access to opportunities and resources for everyone. if you have a disability or need any reasonable adjustments during the application and selection stages please let us know, and we will respond in a way that best fits your needs. pay range: #remote
