Senior purchasing officer inspire resourcing are currently recruiting a senior purchasing officer for our well established client based in chesterfield. this is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced buyer / purchasing manager looking to join a market leading business who can offer career progression and a family feel culture. main duties: * manage supplier relations and performance to ensure material requirements are met. * review mrp suggestions and action accordingly to maintain stock levels and satisfy projected demand of components and factored goods. * manage all purchase orders from conception through to delivery. * manage importation of goods from overseas suppliers, including fcl, lcl and airfreight shipments. * ensure supplier's quality standards are met with support from the qc team. * schedule deliveries in line with production demand, expediting and delaying deliveries where necessary. * maintain supplier/item pricing within the organisations erp system, to ensure accurate purchase values to apply you will ideally: * you will have a thorough knowledge of supply chain processes and experience of mrp and erp systems. * understanding of the manufacturing planning environment. * confident with the ability to drive through change. * computer literate with excellent ms office skills. prior experience of access supply chain (asc) would be ideal. * excellent communication skills to enable you to work with internal and external colleagues at all levels. inspire resourcing are currently recruiting a variety of roles in areas such as sales, marketing, purchasing, it, finance, production and engineering
