Carer requied for elderly lady living near killyleigh - united kingdom, belfast

Long term carer required for elderly lady living near killyleagh, northern ireland our client is aged 91 and has, at last, agreed with her family that she requires someone to care for her unobtrusively. our client lives in the countryside in one of the houses on the family estate having down-sized from the castle, in which the family have lived continuously for 400 years, to a farm house nearby. a housekeeper of long standing, and lives just a mile away, is employed who is currently doing her best to fill the caring role but is, herself, getting old but will never give up or retire. she will need to be very gradually and tactfully steered away from some of the tasks she presently does over time – working as “a team” with you. the clients son lives in the family castle just 2 miles away. you can expect to liaise regularly with him since he visits his mother each day as a matter of habit as does her daughter. mentally, our client is “on the ball” while, physically, her health is what you would expect of an 91 year old. there are numerous aids in and around the house including a stair lift, a hospital bed, a hoist, a commode, a bath lift, a wheel chair and a zimmer frame although she uses her walking sticks more often than not. of course, she wears specs and has hearing aids. the assignment will suit someone who loves living in the countryside and is in their late 50’s to early 60’s. a border terrier may want to take you for a walk every day so you should enjoy doing this. after a preliminary interview, probably by telephone or skype or zoom or face time, with the clients son, if you were considered potentially suitable by him, you would be expected to travel to northern ireland, if not already living there, to meet his mother and see the working conditions for yourself. if not travelling from northern ireland, you would need to arrange a domestic flight to either belfast city or belfast international (from your own closest airport) from where you will be collected and returned. all your least cost travel costs if you do not have your own car to give you a degree of independence, our client has a tpyota yaris car (manual gearbox) which you will be expected to drive her about in and which you may be able to use yourself, from time to time, for short journeys. it is most important you have a valid uk, european or other driving licence and, importantly, are accustomed to driving a right- hand drive car on the left-hand side of the road. there is no point in applying if you do not have a valid driving licence or find driving on country roads and in small towns and villages a problem. applicants with south african driving licences must, before one year has elapsed since entering the uk, be prepared to relinquish their sa licence and replace it with a uk licence for which, of course, there will be a fee charged by the uk issuing authority. you can drive in sa on a uk driving licence of course. our client falls, initially, into our category b. accordingly, your fee will be £93.00 gross a day for a 7 day week moving up to category c (£101.00 per day) once a satisfactory transition with the present housekeeper has taken place. fees are to reviewed at the beginning of april so there is every probability this will increase marginally. you will be paid by on line credit transfer or bacs, as the case may be, after receipt of your claim form. the accommodation that goes with the assignment is a two bedroomed annex to the farmhouse with a bathroom, a sitting room, a small kitchen and a wood burning stove so could well be suitable for a couple. there is also a wifi connection. you will live all-in with no rent, no council tax, no heating nor electricity costs, no food and no travel to work costs all of which, in any other type of employment, is usually paid for out of your taxed income. this has to be worth £1500 per month. the whole package is currently worth approximately £47 to £50,000 per annum, part of which is tax free as we have said. time off you would arrange with the present housekeeper of course. the applicant must have their own uk national insurance number and be registered with her majesty’s revenue and customs as self-employed – if not, we can give advice with this hmrc registration procedure. you will also be expected to have public liability insurance cover – again we can give advice on this. english should, preferably, be your home language but if not, you must speak it fluently because elderly people tend to find foreign accents confusing. if you are interested in this assignment and, perhaps, have zimbabwean or south african connections, you should reply saying where you are from and giving your name and, most importantly, your mobile phone number and e-mail address. people frequently forget to do this so it is only of any value if you keep your mobile switched on and with you at all times so we can talk. it is hoped that, subject to a successful interview, to have someone in place by the end of february and, certainly, no later than mid-march. rather than a deadline, greater emphasis is laid on finding the right person for the assignment - working on the basis that a hasty decision may result in leisurely repentance. therefore, when replying, it would be helpful to know dates – for interviews and, if successful, when you would be able to start the assignment. if you have a holiday booked and paid for, we need to know this as well. after talking or exchanging e-mails, if considered suitable you will be sent our brochure which explains in detail what will be expected of you, and an application form for you to complete and return as quickly as possible. for speed and efficiency this is done by e-mail with attachments so you must be computer literate, have access to a printer – local library - and be comfortable with receiving a brochure and an application form as on-line attachments to an e-mail to you – the application form you can copy, paste, name and save so that you can complete it and, if you meet the criteria for this assignment, e-mail it or scan it or, of course, simply post it back as quickly as possible. if you wish to apply, it is important that you are already living in the uk and able to attend an interview with the client and her son preferably at their home in northern ireland which may, if you live in england or scotland, involve a flight to belfast. you will, of course, be collected from and returned to the airport and all your travel costs refunded. if, of course, you are living in northern ireland, it is expected you will have your own car to go to and from the interview. it is important that you try and write an informative e-mail about yourself so that it stands out. if you can attach a personal cv or resume to your e-mail, this gives you an advantage as would scanned copies of references and a photograph of yourself. cv’s tend to be factually correct but rather impersonal so please, if you are really interested, we suggest you take as much care answering this advertisement as has been taken preparing it and don’t forget to give your mobile number and e-mail address. to merely send a blank e-mail with a cv attached indicates you are using the “scatter gun” approach and may simply result in the delete button being hit. make the effort and hope to reap the rewards! if you would like to apply for this lovely assignment, please answer the questions below and send an e-mail to personalhomehelp@aol.com requesting an application form from us. would you be
