position summary:

we are in search of a security and vulnerability management analyst to drive remediation efforts to increase the efficiency of vulnerability management processes of our customer.  


primary responsibilities: 
•    transition responsibilities of the vulnerability management program from existing team and ftc personnel. drive this transition effort and affirm ownership of the program.
•    own, lead and manage the security vulnerability management program and remediation process across accountable system and component owners, whether they are 1901 group, government personnel, or peer vendor personnel lead the vulnerability management tasks and projects.
•    conduct vulnerability scanning of information systems and network devices using the current vulnerability management tool, tenable security center and nessus.  analyze identified vulnerabilities and resolve the findings throughout the environment.
•    report vulnerability findings and remediation status to management and customers.  prepare audit reports to identify gaps.  communicate results to identified stakeholders of it systems and components (e.g., application owners, core infrastructure owners, etc.)
•    ensure achievement of program service level agreements (slas).  work with cisa directives to ensure remediation of directives within required timelines.  negotiate and establish deadlines for remediation & monitor progress towards remediation of vulnerabilities.  ensure full closure of activities to avoid lingering unfinished backlog.
•    manage software and appliances (pushing clients and maintaining tenable security center and nessus scan engines)
•    develop documentation – sops, status reports, and technical architecture diagrams.  maintain artifacts that demonstrate proof of vulnerability remediation.
•    support after-hours maintenance windows, overtime, travel, and all-hands-on-deck requirements as necessary.
•    stay abreast of current threats, vulnerabilities, and associated remediations.


clearance requirement:

you must be able to obtain and maintain a public trust security clearance prior to start

basic qualifications: 

•    bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 1 year of experience in the field of cyber security
•    comptia security + or network+ certification required
•    experience performing vulnerability and compliance scans and analyzing vulnerability results to prioritize managing risk to the organization.
•    previous experience with network protocols and services
•    prior exposure to cloud environments such as aws, azure, or gcp
•    excellent verbal and written communication skills


preferred qualifications
•    gcia or gcih 
•    ceh 
•    cissp
