POSITION SUMMARY:
The Service Technician will be responsible for incoming vehicle inspections, and annotating vehicle defects in performance or appearance. They will be able to identify most vehicle parts as well as have a general knowledge of their operation. They will build and maintain spreadsheets that will serve as a guideline for labor time and consumables (IMs) concerning repetitive repairs. They will be responsible to assist with any supplements and notifying the Assistant Director of any variance along with root cause. They will be proficient in creating both mechanical and minor auto body service orders as well as identify any sub-let work and outside service needs. They will work cross functionally internally to address any quality and/or information requirements. They will also be able to do light mechanical work under supervision. This would include but not be limited to; oil changes, tire repair and replacement of air and cabin filters. This position will report to the Service Manager.

JOB FUNCTIONS:
• Inspect incoming cars for damage, upgrades or modifications to include test drive
• Create an accurate workorder/ service package or estimate to include damaged/broken part identification, performance and appearance issues, labor and shop supplies
• Have a working knowledge of the locations of all incoming, or in process vehicles on site.
• Work with Asst. Director and Master Technician to maintain proper flow according to demand, availability and resources
• Identify any sublet work required and work with Asst. Director to schedule.
• Willingness to learn with hands-on training.
• Help keep repair shop clean and organized.
• Perform maintenance, repairs, and light mechanical work on vehicles including: oil changes, changing tires; replacing brake pads and other light or minor repairs.
• Uphold highest ethical standards and follow all necessary safety regulations while performing all job-related tasks.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
• Working knowledge of vehicle and conversion repair including, mechanical, electrical, bodywork and paint
• Able to create and follow through on accurate estimates
• Mechanical aptitude and understanding
• Fundamental understanding of Lean Processes
• Good Excel and report building
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Exceptional attention to Quality

QUALIFICATIONS:
• 3 years in an automotive repair environment
• Experience with Microsoft Office suite
• Hold a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
• Ability to assist in repairs is required

• This position will conduct all business in accordance with company policies and procedures, and all state and federal regulations (such as 6S, Lean Manufacturing, OSHA, etc.). Bring problems to the attention of the Manager, Safety Manager or HR Director.
• Ensures all workplace safety standards and practices are upheld
• May participate as a member of the Safety Committee
