Job Description

We are looking for a creative and proficient in all aspects of food preparation, and kitchen management, Executive chef. You will be “the chief” and maintain complete control of the kitchen. The ideal candidate will be energetic, hands on and excited to cook. This is a working chef position that reports directly to ownership. The ideal candidate will have 4+ years of verifiable experience as a kitchen manager, chef d' cuisine or executive chef of an upscale casual/steakhouse/fine dining restaurant in NYC. This business is located on UES.


Plan and direct food preparation and culinary activities, develop recipes
Supervise kitchen staff’s activities
Arrange for equipment repairs
Recruit, develop and manage a new kitchen staff
Rectify arising problems and react to complaints
Work a station on the line when necessary
Perform administrative duties
Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards, earn and maintain an "A" rating
Keep time and payroll records, full BOH labor cost responsibility
Achieve food cost goals
Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers
Able to work nights, weekends


A positive attitude and a sense of humor
Proven working experience as a head chef
Excellent record of kitchen management
Ability to spot and resolve problems efficiently
Capable of delegating multiple tasks
Communication and leadership skills
Keep up with cooking trends and best practices
Working knowledge of various computer software programs (MS Office, restaurant management software, POS)
Valid NYC Food Protection Certificate
